Anxiety & OCD Therapy in East Grinstead
Anxiety is a normal part of life, but when worry, fear or intrusive thoughts begin to take over, it can become exhausting. You may find yourself overthinking, avoiding situations, seeking reassurance or feeling constantly on alert, even when part of you knows there may be little to fear.
I work with adults and young people experiencing anxiety and OCD, including generalised anxiety, panic, health anxiety, social anxiety, phobias and obsessive-compulsive difficulties. Therapy can help you understand what is keeping the anxiety going and gradually develop a different relationship with the thoughts, feelings and situations that have come to feel overwhelming.
I can support you with difficulties including:
• Generalised anxiety and persistent worry
• Panic attacks and fear of further attacks
• Social anxiety and fear of being judged
• Health anxiety
• OCD, including intrusive thoughts and compulsions
• Phobias and intense fears
Anxiety can feel exhausting and isolating, particularly when your life starts to become organised around avoiding anxiety or trying to make it go away. Therapy can help you understand the patterns that keep anxiety going and begin to respond differently to difficult thoughts, feelings and situations.
I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what you are experiencing and what works for you. This might include exploring where your anxiety comes from, identifying patterns of thinking and behaviour, gradually approaching situations you have been avoiding, or learning to tolerate uncertainty without becoming caught in cycles of worry or reassurance.
I offer a supportive, non-judgemental space in East Grinstead, Hove and London, as well as online, where we can work at a pace that feels manageable. The aim is not necessarily to eliminate anxiety altogether, but to help it take up less space in your life so that you have greater freedom to do the things that matter to you.
