Parenting Therapy
Parenting can be one of life’s most rewarding experiences, but it can also be one of the most challenging. Whether you’re navigating the toddler years, supporting a teenager, co-parenting after separation, parenting a neurodivergent child, or simply feeling overwhelmed, parenting therapy offers a supportive space to explore your concerns without judgement.
As an integrative psychotherapist, I work with parents to better understand both their child’s needs and their own emotional responses. Together, we can explore the patterns, beliefs and experiences that may be influencing your parenting, while developing practical strategies to strengthen your relationship with your child.
Parenting can bring up feelings of guilt, frustration, anxiety, anger or self-doubt. You may find yourself struggling with conflict, emotional outbursts, boundaries, behavioural difficulties, school-related issues, or balancing your own wellbeing alongside the demands of family life. Therapy can help you respond more calmly and confidently, rather than simply reacting in the moment.
I also support parents of children and young people experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, autism, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties and other mental health challenges. By understanding how these difficulties affect your child, you can feel better equipped to support them while also looking after your own wellbeing.
Drawing on attachment theory, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), compassion-focused approaches, psychodynamic thinking and mindfulness, I tailor therapy to your family’s unique circumstances. There is no single “right” way to parent, but understanding your child, your relationship and yourself can help create a calmer, more connected family life.
If you’re looking for parenting support in East Grinstead, or online parenting therapy anywhere in the UK, I’m here to help you navigate the challenges of parenthood with greater confidence, compassion and clarity.
